Honky Tonk Bar Concept
Honky Tonk Bar Concept
Project Overview
Located in the heart of the Iowa State Fair Ground Complex, Roy’s Back 40 consists of a 6,000 square foot bar/restaurant building with an additional 3,700 square feet of rooftop deck. The project is styled after many of the buildings you would find on Broadway Street in Nashville, Tennessee with the material palette that includes brick, iron, neon, and painted siding. Planned around a concept that would have live entertainment on the main floor with raised mezzanines overlooking both the interior of the building and exterior of the fairgrounds, the exterior walls can be opened up, completely blurring the line between interior and exterior space.
