Sioux County Airport
The Sioux County Airport FBO and Hangar Project consists of an approximately 16,000 square foot building containing a full aircraft repair facility along with the offices, lobby, and pilot areas for a regional fixed base operations management company. This project, financed through a combination of federal, state, and local funding sources, replaced three smaller airports located across Northwest Iowa. The structure was designed as two separate pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB) paired together to create a single expressive structure. The single slope roof on the FBO portion of the building expresses the weightlessness and soaring feeling of flight by floating over the structure below.
